Apollo 18 and Shark Night 3D fought for honors as top genre film over the four day Labor Day weekend with the former wining by just $400k in ticket sales, though it only managed to climb to the Number 3 slot (with Shark Night 3D at Number 4). Still, Apollo 18 did okay, nearly doubling its $5 million budget with its $10.7 million tally, though Shark Night 3D (with a $10.4 million take) still has a ways to go to cover its $28 million budget. Conan took a big hit over the weekend dropping all the way to the Number 16 slot in its third week of release and Fright Night fell completely out of the Top 20, also in its third week.
