Sci Fi Trailers: First Official Trailer for Prometheus

There have been plenty of questions on what links Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus has to the Alien films and the first trailer definitely suggests a strong connection. The 2012 Science Fiction and Fantasy Movie Preview is Here!

The New Year is almost upon us and that means a whole slew of new science fiction and fantasy movies set to hit the theaters. The first four months of the year are not quite as heralded as the Summer Blockbuster Season, but the months of January through April of 2012 will deliver their fare share of notable genre entries which will include titles like Underworld: Awakening, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, John Carter, Ridley Scott's Prometheus, and Joss Whedon's Cabin in the Woods. Box Office: Sherlock Holmes Detects a Winner in the Theaters

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows kicked off the Christmas holiday rush at the Box Office, claiming the Number 1 slot and an estimated $40 million tally. That's down from the $62 million that the first movie in this franchise opened with two years ago, but still nothing to sneeze at. Taking the Number 3 slot was Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol with an estimated take of $13 million. Those numbers reflected a limited release, though, whit its wide release scheduled for Wednesday. You can read more about the weekend Box Office results at this link.

Sci Fi Trailers: Jack the Giant Killer, Concept Trailer for Goliath, and More

Jack the Giant Killer, directed by Bryan Singer, hits theaters June 8, 2012. Stay tuned to the Sci Fi Scroll site for our 2012 science fiction and fantasy movie preview.



This concept trailer for a proposed film titled Goliath was made by director Alex Popov for allegedly only $150 and has started to generate some buzz across the internet.



The stop-motion animated Paranorm will bow in theaters on August 17, 2012.



The Expendables 2 will team up, among others, Sylvester Stalone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jet Li, Jason Statham, and Dolph Lundgren. Watch for it August 17, 2012.
